Hello! I just stumbled on your site (via this post!) and I can’t wait to explore! I would agree with your post; I am just starting up my blog and etsy shop, and I would definitely refer to myself as a Christian blogger. I will post as God leads me, but the ‘theme’ of my blog will be mostly related to crafts and creativity, with a bit of mommy blogging and everyday life thrown in… when applicable issues of faith come up (or I am led to discuss something specifically of a faith-based nature) I’ll do so, but that isn’t the main theme of my blog… still, God is in everything I do and say, and all that I create is for His glory! I would just like to say thank you so much for this site.
Nearly every one of your posts has answered some question, I have asked myself about blogging as a christian.

I agree with Kim (Sept 15th) as I too wanted to write devotionals. However, after a few posts, realised I was not being ‘me’, I therefore changed the tone of my post to that which reflects my true character and uses my natural gifts.. This is to encourage and motivate others to know that God is interested in being involved in every area of our lives, no matter how small it seems.

I love sharing this knowledge with non christians.

I think a Christian blogger can write about anything as long as it’s Christ honoring. But we need to be careful not to judge one another’s blogs with a critical eye. Perhaps ‘family friendly’ is a better label to put on it.

I believe that without a doubt we can see it in the works of the person who is authoring a particular blog. It might be something that they say, post, link or even email you about offline. I pray about it and feel led to visit certain sites. If I doubt it, then I pray about that too. Sometimes God’s calling may be for me to share my blog with others that may not be believers but might become ones based on something that they have read. I have personally declared my blog as dedicated to God and will post what I feel led to post based on God’s divine guidance in using my gifts. For me that is to encourage and motivate others especially in the world we are living in today. I know I have some that are believers following me and also some that aren’t. Hopefully God will be working on their hearts!

I would agree with your definition. Even though not all blogs are meant to preach or teach Christianity, a Christian blogger can’t help having her faith shine through in at least some posts. I can usually tell a Christian from a non Christian blog pretty quickly!

I think if you’re a Christian and you blog you’re a Christian blogger. Sometimes I share about my faith, but mostly I just write about the ups and downs of being a mom. I figure if someone comes across my blog and reads about what a terrible time I’m having with potty training, and she’s encouraged by the fact that she’s not the only one, that’s a type of ministry too. And if they come back a few times they’ll read a post about about my faith eventually too.

I like your definition as well.
You can just tell it seems if you happen upon a blog of someone who isn’t a Christian I’ve noticed by the way it’s written sometimes with negativity or the language that is used.

This is absolutely beautiful. I love our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ with all my heart and believe my blogs reflect that truth. I do not share a sermon each post, but yet He is in all I do and hope others will see this too. Salt and light…that what I aim to be in blogland.

I like your definition. I post about my faith, sure, but many of my posts outwardly wouldn’t demonstrate my faith. But EVERY post should (I’m a sinner, so I’ll fail) be written in a God-honoring way, influencing how I write about any subject.
