My husband and I just wrote a Creed for our homeschooling family. We raised two older children through the public school system and then began homeschooling our younger two boys at ages 10 and 8. It’s been a beautiful experience. I’m new enough to this blogging thing to only know to direct you to my homeschool file and “The Benton Creed.” Hope you enjoy!

The reason I homeschool is not just for the Christian values or biblical insight….
I homeschool because I know the education my child is getting and don’t have to worry about other imput with my child….or threats from other children or teachers….or worring about wheather someone is going to harm my child….or if my child will come home that day…. or being stalked at the playground….and so on….
I have other children who went to public school after homeschooling for sometime and the outcome couldn’t be good….
Well, homeschool is a blessing and a tool to bring up a child in the way he will go….
You, also have freedom for vacations and no bad wheather days off ….
Freedom to change curriculum or use several if you want , and to advance the child as quickly as they want to….There are so many good programs and materials to use….

  6. After going to Kevin Brownlee’s blog post, it is the precise reason we homeschooled our children, conviction from Scriptures. We were given a study about what God calls parents to, it made us realized the God given responsibility to train up our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Our son went to the public school for two years. In that time, he was sent home numerous times for speaking the truth about creation or salvation. We felt if a teacher could not handle the convictions of a 5 or 6 year old, something was seriously wrong.

After 6 months of studying the Word of God about a parent’s responsibility we concluded, home school was the right thing to do. As it was, my health turned really bad and I had to be isolated due to a condition like the boy in the bubble. Being home full time with my children, I learned as much as they did about true education and the call to seek Christ in all things.

We never regretted the choice to school at home, it helped us to win the hearts of our children and teach them the ways of the Lord.
    Mrs. J.
